Engineer Hassan Abdel Aziz, President of the African Contractors Union and Honorary President of the Arab Contractors Union, participated in the International Federation of Asian and Western Contractors Associations (CICA) Conference, which was held in Paris, France, from November 25 to 28, on the sidelines of the General Assembly meetings of the World Contractors Union. The conference was titled “Enhancing Collaborative and Innovative Approaches for the Efficient Implementation of Resilient and Sustainable Construction Projects.”<\/p>\n
A large delegation from global contractors’ organizations, academia, consultants, contractors, and specialists in the construction sector, as well as representatives from the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Global Association of Public-Private Partnership Units, the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, Unipack Foundation, as well as representatives from FIDIC and modern engineering contracts, participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n
The conference sessions covered several important topics, including the latest and expected forms of contracts and tools from the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), including a new model for public-private partnerships, implementing collaborative delivery contracts, providing sustainable infrastructure collectively, and best practices for avoiding and resolving disputes.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the President of the Contractors Union in Chile was elected as the new president of the World Contractors Union, CICA, succeeding the previous president, Philippe Dos\u00e9.<\/p>\n
The World Contractors Union organized a visit to the Triangle Tower, a building complex under construction, which will be the third tallest building in Paris. The complex includes conference facilities, a hotel, office space, and is being constructed to the highest modern specifications and is environmentally friendly. It is one of the latest ongoing projects, being carried out by B-Skis, and covers an area of 70,000 square meters.<\/p>\n
A meeting was held between the President of the Union of Contractors of Islamic Countries and the accompanying delegation with the former president and the newly elected president of the World Contractors Union to confirm the ways of mutual cooperation between the two unions and the methods of joining unions to the World Contractors Union.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
